Bollywood has been hit by dismal box office sales in the first half of the year. Its music and action blockbusters have flopped, as Indians paid out for low-budget, quirky films and Hollywood sequels instead. Almost 45 out of 55 films that made it to the cinemas so far in 2007 have bombed, plunging revenues by 40 per cent compared to the same period last year.
