TRISHA, HERE IS SOMETHING TO CHEER ABOUT: SHRIYA LOVES THE WAY YOU DRESS AND CARRY YOURSELF

Shriya Saran knows the art of dressing up and dressing down. When it comes to clothes, she can make the prim-and-proper desi look desirable and the whimsical Western seem elegant. Toss the word style, and it sets the star yakking animatedly.
ON STLE
I think it’s all about comfort. It’s not about what you wear, but how you wear it -– and how you carry it off. I don’t go by trends or colours of the season. Style has a lot to do with individual taste -– and good taste stands the test of time!
ON PERSONAL STATEMENT
Basic. I grew up wearing shorts. I also wore a lot of salwars during my dance days. Simplicity still rules my wardrobe choices. When I’m not caught in tinsel hustle, you’ll see me in fuss-free tees and trousers/jeans or dresses. I balance the minimalism in my clothes with dramatic accessories. Just love wearing anklets. People tell me I wear too much white, blush-on red and nursery blue. But that’s just a coincidence. I love all the colours in the spectrum!
SCREEN STYLE
Thankfully, I’ve worked with good designers. Manish Malhotra, Neeta Lulla, Anand Kabra, Erum Ali and Chaitanya Rao have made a difference to my look. I don’t wear clothes I’m not comfortable in. And most often, I use my own clothes -– particularly when it comes to jeans and casual tops. I’ve got a good collection, so I use them for the shoots as well. There’s nothing quite like wearing your own clothes and accessories!
FASHION INFLUENCES
My mom. She always dressed up well and is so tuned in when it comes to fashion. Besides, during my childhood in Dehradun, we lived in a colony comprising people from diverse cultures. So, I developed an eclectic taste. As for the tinsel world, the superstar is the biggest style icon. He can make even an unassuming shirt look stylish! He brings his own sense of style to what he wears. I also admire the way Trisha dresses and carries herself.
STYLE DILEMMAS
None. Just use my common sense and put things together. Style is about autonomy, not compliance!

WANNA KNOW WHY VIDYA BALAN REFUSED TO DO SHANKARDADA ZINDABAD? BECAUSE THE BALL WAS IN HER COURT!!!

Vidya Balan, who made a dramatic entry into Bollywood, knows how to cock a snook at her critics in the South Indian film industry. Unfortunately, Prabhu Deva had to bear the brunt of the lady's ire against the Tamil film industry, as she refused to play the heroine's role in Shankardada Zindabad, despite the promise of a hefty remuneration and an equal footing along with Chiranjeevi in the promos.
Going into the details of the story, before she made her forays in Bollywood, Vidya Iyer, who later became Vidya Balan, was signed for the Malayalam film Chakram, which was shelved. She was then signed in Tamil by Lingusamy for his Run, but she was dropped after the first schedule and replaced by Meera Jasmine. God knows the reason. But it was being whispered that she was a bad actress. And soon word spread about her "acting potential", and while she was trying to recover from rejection and shock, came the second major jolt. Vidya was dropped from another Tamil movie Manasellam, and replaced by Trisha. But, this time she was told the reason: you can't act, please don't waster our time.
She then turned to advertising. She appeared in numerous television ads, many of which were directed by Pradeep Sarkar. She also did supporting roles in music videos, appearing with singers and bands such as Euphoria, Shubha Mudgal, and Pankaj Udhas, and acted in Hindi soap operas like Hum Paanch.
Then Parnieeta happened, followed by Lage Raho Munnabhai, and the actress got critical acclaim and there was no looking back. Interestingly, after the success of Parineeta, the same producer who dropped Vidya Balan from Manasellam on the grounds that she had a non-photogenic face and was a poor actress, sought to sign her opposite Kamal Hassan for Dasavatharam. But Vidya Balan rejected the offer, which went to Asin.
Of course, we can see why the actress has such a grouse against the Tamil filmmakers, but we couldn't understand why she refused to do a film with Chiranjeevi, or the Telugu film industry, who had nothing to do with her jinx story in the south.
But, sources tell us, that the actress was miffed with the very attitude of the southern filmmakers for treating her so badly, and has decided not to do a film in the south. Even if it is in Telugu. That is why despite repeated pleadings, she refused to budge an inch fromer position. And that was when Karishma Kotak was signed on as the heroine.
We understand your situation Vidya, but isn't it time you let bygones be bygones?

Hungry kya? Why not, says Trisha
Fame and money wisen up even the most dumbest of the bimbettes. What to talk of film stars. The other day, Trisha, was in a jazzed up mood about how she is making big bucks in the Tami and Telug film industries. How her films have been box-office grossers. And how she was having a ball. But, the real confession comes -- she quite often misses on the 'other' side of life. Before you can jump to conclusions about who she is hiding in her closet, like a plain Jane she was talking about her inability to spend time to life with friends and family. And nothing else. But she has no regrets. Because she is making loads and loads of money. What the heck, she says, if you wanna amass money and bask in the glory of fame, you HAVE to have your priorities right. And unlike the heroines of yesteryears, she doesn't complain about her lack of time for her social life. Who cares, she maintains, as long as we make money. Her motto is simple: Think nothing about anything and keep looking for opportunities to make tonnes of money. And the rest will take care of itself. You have wisened up indeed, Trisha.
