Utpal Biswas, the son of noted music director Anil Biswas and a musician in his own right, has died in Pune at the age of 58.
Biswas died yesterday in a hospital to which he had been admitted after he fell from the staircase in his residence in Pune, his family said here.
He had composed music with music director Amar for Amitabh Bachchan's film Shahenshah in the 1980s.
The last rites of Biswas, who is survived by his sister and a brother, will be performed in Mumbai on Thursday.
